Summer is OVER!

Well Summer is over and we had our first rainy day of the new season... the season of SUCK! Yea I know it's harsh word but look what we have to look forward to. Cold rainy weather! Leaves falling off the trees leaving them barren and ugly. I hafta rake the leaves. Halloween, another women's and kids thing. Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday of the season. By now the leaves are all gone... flying sucks cause the ground is a boring perhaps ugly brown/gray color and... I didn't do enough flying during the summer to enjoy the GREEN. Except I horribly enjoyed the trip to Oshkosh for AirVenture in July! This is perhaps the highlight event of the year for me beside going to and working the Dayton Hamvention. You know those are two events that I work as a volunteer. Guess I'm happiest when helping others? I should ponder that a bit! By now it's getting too cold to have the windows open and the furnace needs to run, and the giant gas bill. We keep the house very cool and on comes the warm clothing. Although I love snuggling up in my chair with sweats on covered with blankets and a warm doxie somewhere under all that! Then there is Christmas... I HATE CHRISTMAS!!!! a very stressful Hippocratic time! I HATE CHRISTMAS!!!! by now it's snowing and cold and rainy and it gets dark by 5pm. The idiots are racing around spending money they don't have buying things for each other. They will run you over trying to park their cars and beat you up in the stores trying to buy their spoiled brat the latest stupid toy that costs 2 bucks to manufacture and 2-300 bucks to buy! Insanity... I HATE CHRISTMAS!!!! And the crappy job folks do putting Christmas lights on their houses! Just throw them up and turn them on... doesn't matter... that's the way we do everything these days... crappy! IS IT BECAUSE I AM GETTING OLD? What is wrong with me? AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO FEELS THIS WAY? Another holiday for women and kids. Then it's over and the week between Christmas and New Years we (not necessarily me cause CHRISTMASS IS OVER!) enter a time of deep depression. A time when many suicides occur... not, a quick check online could not substantiate that fact but I know I heard it somewhere! Then at New Years we're all suppose to get drunk!
Then drunk again at St Patrick's day. And by Easter we're starting to fertilize and the trees are starting the slow motion effort to get green again... and it seems forever for it to happen. Plowing snow! I do 3 driveways and the sidewalk in front of about 5 houses. Even with the self-propelled snow blower I manage to pull a muscle somewhere! The only good thing about winter is: Not cutting the grass or doing yard work. Instead I can work in the basement without feeling guilty about not being outside enjoying the weather! And the worst thing is I failed to become successful enough to first be retired, second, to own a house somewhere I could spend the winter in warm weather and third own an airplane capable of flying me and mine to that place swiftly and comfortably.

Ok I feel much better now. Don't worry, I'm really OK!!!

Was a GREAT Saturday! Went for a blood test this morning before breakfast. Michael and Jordan spent the night and joined us for breakfast (and dinner!)(and they're sleeping upstairs now too!). Last night got the Arduino boards working! After breakfast came downstairs and to mess around the basement. Got online and met up with James 2E0BMI on Skype. We had a great time working much of the afternoon_me/evening-him together trying to get James Morotola 430 repeater working. James is a hoot. In such a big hurry to get a repeater working... I can barely keep up with him but it is GREAT! Another miracle of the internet! And while doing that I was also keeping as many of the screens on my PC doing things at the same time. WONDERFUL! Opened up a LVB Tracker that came in for repair. Yep, it's broke. Motors turned but the displays just sat there indication no movement. Fix that tomorrow. Finally got caught up on email and rebooted the server, got to rebuild that box... it's almost 10 years old!

And now it's late and I got to get enought sleep to do it again tomorrow.

All the BEST!
