LVB Trackers - one week till Hamvention

We're working late trying to get LVB Trackers ready for the Dayton Hamvention. This has been a very difficult task since my wife Sue, KB8AOF had a stroke last Jan 25th.

Tonight I finished flashing the pics on 21 circuit boards. Also started working on a Win7 SFF pc I will try to do all the testing with and use as the demo PC at Dayton.

Going to bed... VERY TIRED!

12 days to Hamvention

The nightmare continues...

Great trip yesterday, Saturday, to Columbus to help the Youth Aviation Adventure, YAA group with their spring activity. Had a great drive down... I love driving thru dawn. And had a great time doing "Aviation in the Know" with the kids. This station it a game show format with buzzers, buttons and lights where we test the kids knowledge about what they learned about aviation during the day. The kids really get into this part of the event and have a blast doing it. We do too! So much fun that I give up a day of intense building LVB Trackers during the Dayton push! But again, it's worth it.

On the way home stopped at Mom's for a visit. Been too busy with life to see Mom lately. We had a great time watching the Kentucky Derby together. Tonight us kids r going over to Mom's for a pizza party to celebrate Mom's Day!

Next brought 'Chinese' home for dinner... Everyone likes Chinese food at our house especially the dogs.

And after dinner I even got all the bypass caps on the second group of ten circuit boards started mid-week... I think we will start pushing to get trackers assembled , resets and packed for delivery. Might not GDR 30 but we will have 10 or 20 ready by Wennesday the 18th. Or we'll leave Thursday morning I dunno.

Later! :)

14 days till Hamvention

Actually got home from work today early! The Cleveland Indians were finishing up their last game in a series with the Oakland A's. It was a bright and sunny day and we had no rain for 24 hours so I went out and cut the front yard. Parts of the back yard were pretty wet so besides being real tired I just cut the front. Indians went into overtime and beat the A's in 12 innings. Took Rufus for a walk while the sun was up! Came home and put some leftover chicken casserole on the stove, we usually use the microwave! When Sue remarked that it might be sticking I got up outta my chair and stirred the casserole bumping the heat from warm to low as it was not very warm. Sat back down in my chair. Next thing I knew Sue was telling me I didn't turn the burner... It was just after midnight! I started to defend myself but could not remember eating at all and I could smell something burning. So much for dinner and I might have ruined the pot.

I must have really needed the sleep cause I was out... But I really needed to continue building trackers. With the current demands on my time I really needed those hours to continue working on trackers. Good news is I did finish building 10 boards. They r not totally finished as the need to be cleaned and flashed. Instead of doing that last night I chose to start on 10 more boards. The goal of having 30 ready for Dayton seems unreachable at this point. Friday is now my Saturday but in the past the entire day is wasted on domestic chores. Saturday I promised to help with Youth Aviation Adventure in Columbus. I thought at the time I agreed to help it was a mistake but I enjoy doing it. And didn't think I'd be sonar behind.

This whole process has me so stressed out I dont even want to write about it anymore...
